"The Sum of Their Parts" is a collection that serves as a visual discourse on migrant identity and cultural displacement. Drawing inspiration from the ritualised adornment practices of the Himba women of Namibia, these works are distinctly feminine, compositionally intricate, and visually opulent. Through them, I critically investigate multicultural identity and female agency in contemporary society. Examining adornment as embodied knowledge, I reflect on how ornamentation, memory, and ritual together shape migrant identity—inviting viewers to reflect on their own place within these evolving dialogues.

The Entanglement series continues my exploration of gourd forms, especially Swan Gourds. My fascination with these shapes grew after reading about quantum entanglement—a phenomenon where particles remain connected across vast distances. This scientific idea resonated with me artistically: just as a dance emerges from the interplay between its performers, entanglement arises from the connection between particles.

Each vessel is crafted as a distinct entity, yet they relate closely—almost as if quietly conversing. This dynamic reveals how material, shape, and composition evoke nostalgia, love, loss, and consciousness through their association. Nerikomi patterns form a visual link between the pieces, deepening the concept of Entanglement.
