This vase’s carefully layered, soft, undulating lines exemplify the beautifully stark and honest beauty of the Namibian desert landscape where I grew up. The elegant flaring collar adds drama to the simplistic shape.
Sophisticated simplicity
Composition: A smooth, creamy stoneware clay with a Nerikomi inlay consisting of various clays, colours and stained clays. The outside is left unglazed to enhance and accentuate the delicate Nerikomi design, while the inside is glazed with a matt white glaze. The unglazed areas have been treated with a liquid Quartz to ensure it is stain-proof.
Approximate Size: 20cm high x 12.5cm wide (body). Rim: 18cm wide.
